Castleton & Peak forest circular walk

Winnats Pass

Did a lovely 7 mile walk today in the peak district taking three and a half hours. Starting in Castleton we followed the riverside walk up to Goose Hill, passed the speedwell cavern entrance up Winnats pass to Sweetknoll, the peak forest, old Dam Lane, Oxlow rake, Limestone Way, Cave Dale and back to Castleton. Had blue skies and sunshine all the way, so a few sunburn patches are now visible. Was really quiet for a bank holiday weekend just a little busy on limestone way, but Castleton town center was very busy. Stopped off for a coffee and a Bakewell slice when we finished (very very nice). We finished the day with a curry and a few pints locally, so all in all a perfect day and now we're both ready for a good nights sleep :)
